Vivian Sonnenberg, Infant Sleep Consultant

My experience with Vivian is similar to most of the reviewers here. At the recommendation of a friend who had also used Vivian with dramatic results, I called her. We began the sleep training when my daughter was 18 weeks. The results were dramatic. After only one week, my baby began sleeping 9-10 hours at a time at night and her naps have gone from 30 minutes to close to an hour for many of them. It’s a work in progress and will take some time but each day gets easier and I expect that my daughter will continue taking longer naps each day.

I was at my wits end and feeling desperate by the time we started. I was up for 3 night feedings and had to put the pacifier back in her mouth multiple times a night, and was sleeping in 45 minute intervals. It was terrible. In only days, my daughter, who had never fallen asleep without being swaddled, having a pacifier, and having me with her to get to sleep, was napping on her own, sleeping through the night, and seemed generally happier and calmer.

Yes, it is hard the first few days. I had never let my child cry for more than 30 seconds. But she was several hours short of sleep a day (sleeping only 12 of the 15 or 16 she needed), fussy most of the time, and I was feeling exhausted and upset. I followed Vivian’s advice and plan to the letter, which is very important if you want to see results. She checks in with me each day, and I can call her with questions as much as I need to. Â Hearing your baby cry is very difficult, and I needed her support and confidence that I was teaching her a valuable skill in learning to self-soothe and have more consolidated sleep.

Working with Vivian has made each day less stressful and filled with joy rather than exhaustion. Vivian is knowlegeable and supportive, checking in each day and helping make adjustments to the plan when necessary. Â When I have my next baby, I will start the sleep training MUCH earlier. My daughter is happier, better rested, and calmer.
